Wayne Gantt - Owner, Funeral Director

Wayne Gantt

A native of Greenwood, Wayne is the son of the late Paul and Macy Mabry Gantt, who were also Greenwood natives. He is a graduate of Greenwood High School and Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He and his wife of fifty years, Judy West Gantt, reside in Forest Hills. They have two sons, Larry and Steve who also serve in the family business. 

Wayne became affiliated with Blyth Funeral Home in 1962 while still in high school. After returning from college he resumed his employment with the funeral home and in 1971 became co-owner of the firm. He became sole owner of the funeral home in 1986 and continues to serve as president.

He formerly served on the Burton Center Board of Directors and Faith Home Board of Directors for many years and has worked in many other various capacities serving the community in his fifty-four years in the funeral business.  He was awarded Small Business Person of the year in 2014 by the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. 

Wayne and Judy are members of Greenwood First Baptist Church.

Steve Gantt - Funeral Director, Preneed Counselor

Steve Gantt

Steve is a native of Greenwood and a graduate of Greenwood High School, the University of South Carolina and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is married to Stacey W. Gantt, who is employed with Lander University. They have two sons, Brooks and Andrew.

A member of Greenwood First Baptist Church, he is also a member of Greenwood Sertoma Club and is Past Chairman of the South Carolina Funeral Director's Association, Piedmont Group. He currently serves on the South Carolina State Board of Funeral Service. 


Susie Barker, CPC - Funeral Director, Director of Advance Planning 

Susan Barker

Susan Herlong "Susie" Barker , CPC is a native of Greenwood and is married to Larry Barker who is employed with Lander University as an Energy Manager. They have a son, Brandon Barker.

Susie is a 1977 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 1979 graduate of Piedmont Technical College, earning her Associate Degree in Public Service. She is a licensed funeral director, a Certified Pre-need Counselor and licensed pre-need insurance agent. Susie has been employed with Blyth Funeral Home since 1999.  

A member of the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, she is also a volunteer with the Guardian ad Litem Program in Greenwood. 

Susie and her family are members of St. Mark United Methodist Church and attends New Spring Church.


Earl Carroll - Funeral Director 


Earl Carroll

A native of Greenwood, Earl is married to Lisa Stackhouse Carroll. They have a daughter, Lauren Ashley Carroll.

A graduate of Greenwood High School and Piedmont Technical College, he also attended the University of South Carolina at Columbia and Lander University. He has served on the staff of Blyth Funeral Home since 1990, and is a licensed funeral director and embalmer.

An active member of South Main Street Baptist Church and the Chancel Choir of the church, Earl is also a communicant of the Church of the Resurrection, Episcopal in Greenwood and is a member and past-president of the Greenwood Lions Club. He is also a member of the Eureka Masonic Lodge #47, A.F.M. in Ninety Six, and is a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He is also a member of the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce and is active in community affairs and works for the betterment of Greenwood and all the Lakelands area. Earl is also an avid golfer and amateur artist. He currently enjoys portrait painting and landscapes and is continuously searching for ways to express the beauty of our country and people through art, and through offering his knowledge and expertise in the funeral service industry.


Bryan Conyers - Funeral Director 

Brian Conyers

A Greenwood native, Bryan is married to Brittaney Hughes Conyers who is a Mental Health Counselor with Beckman Mental Health.  The two have one son, Mason.  

A graduate of Greenwood High School and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, Bryan served as President of the Honorary Mortuary Fraternity and was voted by the students to receive the Daniel E. Buchanan Award which is given to the student who is most active and represents the best qualities needed to be in the funeral service industry. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer.

He is an active member of F3 Greenwood and Church Softball League.  He is also member of the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. 

Bryan and his family attend New Market Baptist Church.


Thomas Brown, CCO

Judy Gantt

A native of Edgefield County, Thomas and his wife, Angie Brock Brown, live in Honea Path where Angie works with the USPS. They have two children and are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren.

A 1986 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School, he is a 2012 graduate of Piedmont Technical College where he earned an Applied Science degree in Funeral Service. Thomas is the Manager of Blyth Crematory, a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, and is a Certified Crematory Operator (CCO), a National Funeral Directors Association designation.

He is a member of Faith Baptist Church in Honea Path where he serves on the Pastors Advisory Committee and in the sound and video department. He is also a member of Centre Masonic Lodge #37.


Terry Jones - Funeral Directing Apprentice

Terry Jones

A native of Walterboro in Colleton County, SC, Terry is married to Heather Simmons-Jones and has a son Terry Allen Jones III.

His wife Heather is the CEO of the Greenwood Economic Partnership. They have resided in Greenwood for the past three years.

Terry started in funeral services at the age of 15, working for a family owned firm in the lower part of the state.

Terry attended the John Gupton College of Mortuary Science in Nashville Tennessee and will be completing his studies at Piedmont Technical College Funeral Service Education Center. Terry will be finishing his Apprenticeship as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in 2017.

Terry is a Certified Crematory Operator (CCO), a National Funeral Directors Association designation.

He is a member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood, the Greenwood Rotary Club as well as Unity Masonic Lodge #55, A.F.M.


Hannah Gantt - Funeral Service Associate

Hannah Gantt

A native of Ninety Six, Hannah is a daughter of Jane and Gary Roper. She is a graduate of Ninety Six High School and attended Anderson University, where she majored in graphic design. She has one daughter Gracen who will graduate Cambridge Academy in 2014.

A member of the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, she serves on the Women’s Leadership Council. She is a member of the Greenwood Woman’s Club where she serves as a board member.  Hannah also serves as Museum Board Chair and an Executive Board Member of the Greenwood Museum and Historical Railroad Center.  She was instrumental in bringing "Polar Express" to children in Greenwood.  A member of People to People-Greenwood Chapter, Hannah will serve as Co-Chair of the 2014 Festival of Flowers Luncheon.  She formerly served on the Board of Visitors at Wesley Commons.  

A member of First Baptist Church Hannah has served as a Sunday School teacher to preschool children for over twenty years, serves in numerous capacities and on several various committees.


Judy Gantt - Funeral Service Associate

Judy Gantt

A native of Greenwood, Judy is the daughter of the late John Harold and Bernice Higginbotham West. She is a graduate of Greenwood High School and was formerly employed with Lander University where she served as Book Store Manager. She and her husband Wayne have two sons Larry and Steve.

Judy is affectionately known as Ju-Ju to her three grandchildren Gracen, Brooks and Andrew, with whom she enjoys spending most of her time.

Gerald Rauton - Funeral Director

Gerald Rauton is a native of Greenwood and a graduate of Greenwood High School. He earned an Associate's Degree in Business Management from Palmer College in Columbia and is a US Air Force Veteran having served from 1965-1968 during the Vietnam Conflict.

A Licensed Funeral Director, Gerald worked with Blyth Funeral Home 1968-1980 and later retired from Carolina Pride Foods after thirty years of service in the Shipping and Traffic Departments in supervision. He came back to Blyth after retiring and is honored to assist families at a most difficult time in their lives.

Gerald and his wife, Clydie are members of First Presbyterian Church, where he is as a member of the Brotherhood Sunday School Class. He has served as Deacon and Usher of the church. Gerald is a former member of the Greenwood Lions Club, where he is Past President (1982) and was Lion of the Year (1982).

He and Clydie have one daughter, Michelle Rauton, who is a Special Education Teacher for Greenwood School District #50. Gerald is always busy helping many friends with lawn care and tending his garden. In his spare time, he enjoys boating and relaxing at Lake Greenwood.

Mary Ann Smith - Funeral Assistant

Mary Ann is a native and current resident of Ninety Six. In 1989 she opened Mary Ann Smith Insurance Agency, Inc. – Nationwide Insurance, serving Greenwood and surrounding counties. She retired in December 2012 after 32 years in the business.

She is a member of Siloam Baptist Church where she serves on the Personnel Committee. Mary Ann is an active member and board member of the Ninety Six Lions Club and she serves as a volunteer for the Greenwood Arts Council at the Arts Center. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Palmetto Bank.

Since retiring, Mary Ann has enjoyed serving as a funeral assistant at Blyth Funeral Home. With all she is involved in, Mary Ann still enjoys traveling and spending time with her sons and grandchildren.

Sam Riley - Funeral Assistant

Samuel P. "Sam" Riley is a native of Ware Shoals and graduate of Ware Shoals High School and Piedmont Technical College. Sam is retired from the Greenwood County Sherriff's Office after over thirty years of service, where he served sixteen of those years as Sherriff of Greenwood County.

Sam and his wife, Sybil are members of Harris United Methodist Church and enjoy spending as much time as they can with their grandchildren. Sam also enjoys cattle farming and working in the community. He is especially honored to serve families through Blyth Funeral Home.

David Frady - Funeral Assistant

David grew up in Greenwood and was a 1961 graduate of Greenwood High School. He is a US Army Veteran having served from 1960-1968. David worked for forty-three years with Winn-Dixie Food Stores, traveling the Southeast setting up and managing many stores. He served in numerous capacities with Winn-Dixie, retiring as a District Manager. After retiring David was District Manager with Dollar General Stores for three years and Dollar Tree for two years. When he finally stopped traveling, David came to work with Blyth Funeral Home in 2008 where he serves every family with great compassion.

David and his wife of fifty years, Brenda are members of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, where he has served and continues to serve on numerous committees and in various positions of the church. He and Brenda have one daughter, Lori Katonak, who owns and operates a pet grooming business in Orlando, FL.

In his spare time, David enjoys reading and spending time with his wife Brenda.

Jim Hull - Funeral Assistant

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Jim Hull is a graduate of Clemson University, where he earned both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree. He was formerly employed with J.P. Stevens Company for four years and retired in 1992 from the State of South Carolina as Special Schools Manager for the State Board of Technical Education, working on the campus of Piedmont Technical College for thirty-five years. He is a US Army Veteran, serving in the South Carolina Army National Guard and retired after thirty years service as Lieutenant Colonel.

Jim and his wife of fifty-one years, Louise are members of South Main Street Baptist Church, where he is a member of the Richard Carter Sunday School Class. Jim has served as deacon, has served on the Property, Personnel and Lord's Supper Committees, and in many other various positions of the church.

He is a member of the American Legion Post #20, where he is Past Commander and has served in other various offices. He is a member and Past President of the Star Fort Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America and has also served in other various offices for the group. Jim serves as Chairman of the Greenwood County Transportation Committee.

An avid Clemson Football supporter, Jim enjoys playing golf, traveling, gardening and spending time with his family.

He and Louise have three children, Jim Hull, Jr., Pam H. Jones and John Hull; and six grandsons, with whom Jim loves to spend time with.

Brianna Dick - Funeral Service Associate

Brianna is a daughter of Wayne and Barbara Blackston Dick. She is a 2007 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 2012 graduate of Lander University where she received a BS degree in Psychology.
