Holiday Memorial Service

Each year we are honored to have a memorial service for the families of those we have served in the previous year. The holidays are especially difficult to those who have lost one they love. This year Dr. William Harris our aftercare specialist provided great words of comfort to the over 100 people in attendance. Light refreshments were served following the very moving ceremony where family members lighted candles remembering their loved one. Crystal angels were given with the name of the lost loved ones and we hope everyone left with a since of peace and hope to make it through the coming year. Blyth Funeral Home is the oldest funeral home in Greenwood providing 125 years of service to people of the lakelands area. We are honored to help so many through such a difficult time in their lives. May your new year be filled with memories and your memories be used to keep the one you love close.

Relay For Life 2008

Team "Blyth" gathered Friday, May 9, 2008 for our first time participating in Relay For Life. Our day started early Friday getting things ready for the big event at 7:00 PM. We were so proud to have two survivors on our team Judy Gantt and Dot Wood. They took the first lap and helped kick of the 2008 Relay For Life. We enjoyed a great time walking and talking with friends and especially enjoyed all of the great entertainment and teriffic foods of the evening. Some of us were able to make it through the night and to the closing ceremony. We can't wait to do it again next year. Our team was "Making A World Of Difference For A Cure" and donated a little less than $2000.00 to the American Cancer Society.

Special thanks to tho-se who donated to our cause and to Fooshees, Floral Case, Beaudrouts and Greenwood Flower Shop for their donations to help our "message in a balloon" project. Also thank you to Jennifer Colton at the Index Journal for her great reporting of the event.
