Bonnie Pietrusza

Bonnie Rae Nutter Pietrusza, 83, resident of Dove Road in Greenwood, widow of William W. “Bill” Pietrusza, Sr, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at her residence.

Born in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, August 13, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Okey H. and Lula Mae Wyatt Nutter. Bonnie was a graduate of Crichton High School in Crichton, West Virginia. During her youth, she was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow Girls, an auxiliary unit of the Order of Freemasons. She was very active in the Greenwood Catholic Women’s Club and loved a relaxing day of fishing and playing Bingo. She enjoyed music and played multiple instruments including the piano, clarinet and banjo.

Bonnie was a retired Nursing Assistant from Cuyahoga County Hospital System in Cleveland, OH where she loved caring for her patients. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she was very active.

Surviving are a daughter, Jill (Alan) Gilchrist of Greenwood; two sons, William (Allyson) Pietrusza, Jr of San Diego, CA and Steven (Susan) Pietrusza of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Lindsay (Austin) Schmidt of Wake Forest, NC, David Pietrusza of San Diego, CA, Steven Pietrusza, Jr and Sarah Pietrusza both of Jacksonville, FL; two great-grandchildren Ellie Schmidt and Samuel Schmidt both of Wake Forest and many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years and a daughter Jennifer Eyring.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Timothy Tebalt officiating. Friends are invited to A Celebration of Life at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Burnadette Hall immediately following the Mass.

Active Pallbearers will be Steven Pietrusza, William Pietrusza, Austin Schmidt, Kevin Workman and Graham Whidden.

Honorary escort will be Jim and Sheila Mendicino.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Jill Gilchrist and will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.
