Obituary for Claud Lewis Waters

Claud Lewis Waters, 90, resident of Windward Point, Columbia, formerly of Greenwood, husband of Syble Lance Moon Waters, passed away, Friday, July 21, 2017 at Palmetto Health Parkridge.
Born in Pickens County, November 18, 1926, he was a son of the late Claud Andrew and Mary Bell Oates Waters. Mr. Waters was the sales manager for Rhodes Furniture for many years. He was affectionately known to many as “Mr. Rhodes”. He had a passion for restoring historical homes, especially the Lance-Knoll family home in Campobello, S.C.
He was a member of Soule Chapel United Methodist Church in Chappells and a former member of Hodges United Methodist Church.
He was first married to the late Margaret Wiggins Waters and was also predeceased by his son, Robert Eugene Waters, Sr. and brothers, Fred and Marvin Waters.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his daughters, Diana (George) Evatt of Surfside Beach, Sherri (Marvin) Wise of St. Matthews and Allison (David) Hutto of Greer; a daughter-in-law, Vicky Saylors Waters of Greenwood; a son, Richard Moon of Evans, G.A.; eight grandchildren, Margaret Hoffman of Myrtle Beach, Rosie Evatt (Zackary) Brewer of Simpsonville, Lisa (Keith) Carrouth of Surfside Beach, Jennifer (Ken) Medlock of Ninety Six, Robbie (Kristi) Waters of Greenwood, Bryan Moon of Evans, G.A., Kyle (Anne) James of W. Columbia and Matthew (Candy) Jones of Newberry; three great-grandchildren, Abby Hoffman, Tyler Medlock and Zakkary Jones.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home 10 til 11:30 Tuesday morning.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 AM Tuesday, July 25th at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with Rev. Bill Quarles officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Keith Carrouth, Marvin Wise, Matthew Jones, Bryan Moon, Richard Moon and Kyle James.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
