Doris Nell “Johnnie Will” Gibson Ouzts 93, former resident of Pinehaven Drive, widow of Rev. Joseph A. Ouzts to whom she was married for 70 years, died peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Saluda Nursing Center. She was the last member of her immediate family.

Born in Toombs County, GA, November 27, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John and Lola James Gibson. She was educated in the Ninety Six public schools. After her marriage to Rev. Ouzts they served pastorate to churches in Greenwood, Calhoun Falls, Anderson and St. George, returning to Greenwood and retiring at Jordan Memorial Baptist Church, which was his first church to pastor.

Mrs. Ouzts was a member of First Baptist Church of Ninety Six and the TEL Sunday School Class of the church.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Jo Owens of Greenwood and Kathi O. Free of Columbia; a son, J. Alton , Jr. and wife Judy Ouzts of Ninety Six; grandchildren, Sherri (Mark) Stuckey of Skiatook, OK, Terri (Floyd) Coates of Waterloo, Jody (Angie) Johnson of Tulsa, OK, Kelley (Jay) Pettibone of Lexington, Chris Owens of Waterloo, Julie (Dee) Christopher of Fort Mill, Tee (April) Timmerman of Ninety Six and Jennifer (Doug) Lawson of Kitale, Kenya; eighteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Thursday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Sprouse officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Roark, Larry Roark, Floyd Coates, Mark Stuckey, Jay Pettibone and Dylan Coates.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Eddy, Jimmy Clary, George Ferqueron and Bill Sherrer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 until 11AM Thursday.
