Obituary for James "Jim" T. Freeman

James T. “Jim” Freeman, Jr., 76, resident of Rock Creek Boulevard, husband of Earlene Ivey Freeman, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at NHC Greenwood surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Ware Shoals, SC, December 24, 1941, he was the son of the late James T. Freeman, Sr. and Lucille White Davis. He was a graduate of Ware Shoals High School Class of 1962 and was employed with Brothers and Harrison Construction and later self-employed until his retirement.

Jim was a faithful member of Laurel Baptist Church for many years. He enjoyed using his construction skills doing work at the church and for many people throughout the community. His greatest joy however was the time he spent with his wife, daughter and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 55 years are a daughter, Donna Owens of Greenwood; two grandsons, Joshua (Kayla) Owens of Abbeville and Dillon Owens of Greenwood; two great grandchildren, Bristol Patterson and Bella Marie Owens and three half sisters.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, February 8 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Inger Hendley Martin and James Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 PM on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Owens, Dillon Owens, A.J. Love, Robert Baldwin, Paulie Janyja, and Frank Owens.
