Obituary for James "Jimmy" Overby Pinson, Jr.


James “Jimmy” Overby Pinson, Jr., 75, husband of Linda Marie Pinson, of Relax St., died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Greenwood County, August 10, 1942 to the late James Overby and Virginia Coffey Pinson. He was a 1960 graduate of Greenwood High School. He was retired from Flour-Daniel Corporation as a site manager, after 22 years of faithful service. He was a member of the South Carolina National Guard where he served as a maintenance mechanic.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many trips to Santee with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by many, but we were all greatly blessed to have him in our lives.

He was formally married to Mary Jane Watkins, mother of his children and later married to Patricia Ann Sears, mother of David and Mike.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 20 years of the home are his children, Jane Marie Pinson Dunagan, James Overby “Jay” Pinson, III and wife Jackie, Charles Lewis “Chuck” Pinson, Christina Marie Honenstein, Rustin James “Rusty” Thompson, Brianna Marie Tedards and Husband Benji, Mike Sears and wife Laura and David Sears and Wife Roxanne; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Ella Wham.
A visitation will be held Tuesday October 24, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at the home located at 877 Relax St., Waterloo.

Memorials may be made in Jimmy’s memory to Hospice Care of the Piedmont Hospice House, 408 West Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
