Jerry Gambrell Jr.

Jerry Leon “Chris” Gambrell Jr., 45, resident of 917 Andrews Chapel Rd, husband of Jessie McClellan Gambrell, passed away Friday August 11th , 2017 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Columbia, May 1, 1972, he was a son of Jerry Leon Sr. and Cathy Bledsoe Gambrell. Upon graduating from Strom Thurmond high school, he served in the SC National Guard. Jerry was a dedicated Carolina Gamecock fan and was also an avid golfer.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home and his parents of Greenwood, are a daughter, Meg Gambrell; a step-son, Maddox Covington and a brother, Joey and his wife Melanie Gambrell of Edgefield.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Marvin and Sara “Doll” Gambrell of Donalds and Crafton and Erline Bledsoe of Johnston.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 14, 2017 in the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Sprouse officiating. Burial will follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of Jerry and Cathy Gambrell, 113 Curl Drive, Greenwood 29649 and will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 1-2 P.M.

Pall bearers will be Nicholas Boatwright, William Bledsoe, Adam Walter, Heath Boatwright, Jonathan Quarles and Ronny Powell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Ave, Greenwood 29646.
