Obituary for Mary Helen Culbertson

Mary Helen Culbertson, 87, lifelong resident of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017, at NHC Healthcare of Greenwood.

Born July 16, 1930, in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Richard Carlisle and Annie Nelson Culbertson. She was a 1947 graduate of Greenwood High School and attended the Greenwood College of Commerce. Miss Culbertson retired in 1993, from JC Penney’s Department Store after 32 years of service as an audit associate.

A member of West Side Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Joann Cantrell Sunday School Class, and the church crochet group.

Surviving are a special cousin, Kaye and husband Norman Acton of Donalds and several other cousins and a very special neighbor, Dianne Scott.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hal Lane and Rev. David Nelson officiating. Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to West Side Baptist Church, P.O. Box 215, Greenwood, SC 29646.
