Obituary for Peggy Jean Smith

Peggy J. Smith, 84, resident of Ninety Six Highway, widow of Holley Lewis Smith, Jr., passed away Friday, January 5, 2018, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born March 29, 1933, in Ninety Six, she was the daughter of the late Homer D. and Ethel Beasley Turner. She was the former co-owner/operator, along with her husband, of TE Jones & Sons Furniture in Greenwood.

She was a member of Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are three children, Kathryn Holly East of Easley, Stanley and wife Renae Smith of Lexington and B. Lynn and husband Jerry Lewis of Greenwood; her brother, Stephen B. Turner of Ninety Six; five grandchildren, Julie (Ron) Hunter, Stephanie Derr, Paige (Jason) Allen, Holly (Justin) Love and Elizabeth (Doug) Watt and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 pm Monday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Brock and Rev. Cliff Vicars officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Ron Hunter, Jason Allen, Jonah Allen, Justin Love, Jackson Love and Doug Watt.

Honorary escort will be the Men of Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church along with Dr. Michael Bryant, Van Hutchins, William Chambers, Joey Owens, Eric Turner, Scott Turner, John Williams, Randall Jay and Heyward Kidd.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2:30 Monday afternoon.

Memorials may be made to the Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church, 206 State Street, Ninety Six, SC 29666.
