Phillip Lindler

Phillip Brooks Lindler, 86, resident of 113 Anderson Drive, widower of Annette Proctor Lindler, died Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his home.

Born in Fairfield County, June 7, 1931, he was a son of the late John Lomas and Lila May Stoudemire Lindler. He was a graduate of Monticello High School where he was a member of the baseball and basketball teams. Phillip later joined the US Army during the Korean War and was a recipient of the Korean SVC Medal W/2 Bronze SVC Stars and the United Nations SVC Medal. After his military duty he began his career with Lone Star Industries that extended more than 50 years.

He attended Durst Avenue Church of God.

Surviving are his daughters, Kim Lindler McClain and husband Scott and Cindy Lindler Burton and husband Steve all of Abbeville; grandchildren, Brooks and wife Lauren Nichols of Taylors, Gray and wife Tori Turner of Abbeville, Karson McClain, Cody Burton, Dylan Burton and Braeden Burton; great grandchildren, Brooklynn Nichols, Annie Nichols, Abel Nichols and Henry Turner; brothers, Robert Lindler and William Lindler; sisters, Mabel Cain, Sue Grant, Martha Jo Mahaffey and Annie Laura Graham. He was predeceased by brothers, Mack and John Lomas Linder, Jr. and a sister, Margaret Lindler Wharton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 PM Wednesday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with the grandchildren to be the speakers.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Burial will follow with Military Honors in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home of Cindy and Steve Burton 444 Dungannon Dr. in Abbeville and will receive friends immediately following the chapel service prior to relocating to the graveside.
