Obituary for Ruebin B Holder

Gerue Bert “Ruebin” Holder, 85, resident of 104 Clifton Street, widower of Vernon Hammond Holder, passed away March 8, 2018, at his home.

Born September 8, 1932, in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late Lonzo and Lillian Qualls Holder Harris. He attended Ware Shoals public schools and was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Monsanto. Ruebin was an avid golfer and worked as a fairway scorer at Augusta National for the Masters for over 25 years.

Mr. Holder was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Surviving are a son, Phillip Lee Holder of Greenwood; a daughter, Kelley Marie Turner of Greenwood; grandchildren, Jordan Faith Turner and Harrison Lee Holder, both of Greenwood; and a brother-in-law, Robert Lee and wife Barbara Hammond of Houston, TX.
He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and many care takers that he considered family.

Cryptside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Bishop Bill Quinn officiating.

The family is at the home on Clifton Street and will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 6 to 8 Monday evening.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Ave, Greenwood, SC 29646.
