Obituary for Shirley Ann Banister

Shirley Ann Martin Banister, 75, resident of Turkey Creek Lane, Ware Shoals, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Miami Florida, March 14, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Brantley Martin and Kathryn Elizabeth Robinson Kendrick.

Shirley was an active member to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Greenwood. She had a true love for traveling and animals, especially the many pets she rescued.

Surviving are, a long time companion, William “Bill” Black of Ware Shoals; a daughter, Lisa (James) Johnson of Ware Shoals; two sons Daniel Banister of Honea Path and Jason Banister of Columbia; a granddaughter, Jena (Jamie) Slentz of Ware Shoals; two great-grand daughters, Alexis and Caylee Slentz; two brothers, Robert Hall of Donalds and James Hall of California.

She was predeceased by a sister Marilyn Lapicola.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 1:00 PM from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Bill Quinn officiating. Burial will follow on January 5, 2018 in San Mateo Cemetery in San Mateo, Florida.

The family is at the home of her granddaughter, 100 Turkey Creek Lane, Ware Shoals and will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Greenwood Humane Society, 239 Wilbanks Circle, Greenwood, SC 29649
