Obituary for William Buddy Fleming

William Lowery “Buddy” Fleming, 85, husband of Lucille Baay Fleming, died July 10, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Abbeville County, June 19, 1932, he was son of the late William Roy and Ethel Simpson Fleming. Mr. Fleming was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from Greenwood Mills, Harris Plant. He was a member of West Side Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two sons, Michael (Jenny) Fleming and Joseph (Jennifer) Fleming all of Greenwood; a daughter, Deana (Ray) Lewis of Donalds; four sisters, Edith Shirley, Muriel McCoy, Carolyn (Leonard) McCoy and Eula (David) Phillips, all of Honea Path; a sister-in-law, Ann Fleming of Donalds; grandchildren, Cory Fleming, Katelyn Pitts, and Catherine Fleming; one great-grandson, Michael Fleming. Mr. Fleming was predeceased by a brother, Charles E. Fleming. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Derrick Rash and Rev. Joe Chapman officiating. Burial will be held at 3:30 in the Toccoa City Cemetery in Toccoa, Georgia. Pallbearers will be Mike Scott, Randall Scott, Cory Fleming, Terry McCoy and Ken Stanley. The family is at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 Wednesday morning. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
