Obituary for William Lynn Rushton

William Lynn Rushton, 58, resident of 1305 Old Abbeville Highway, husband of Phyllis Barrett Rushton, passed away July 28, 2017, at his home.

Born September 18, 1958, in Greenwood, he was the son of Geraldine “Geri” Garrett Rushton Watkins and the late William George “Billy” Rushton. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and was the former co-owner/operator of Northside Amoco and later Lynn’s Automotive.

A loving husband, Daddy and Papa, he was of the Baptist Faith and spent much of his spare time going to dirt track races, camping with family and enjoying time at the beach.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 40 years are his mother and step-father, Marshall Watkins of Laurens; a daughter, Samantha Rushton (Ross) Craven of Ninety Six; a son, William Lynn “Billy” (Ginger) Rushton of Hodges; grandchildren, Bradley (Lauryn) Weaghington, Bailey (Kearston) Weaghington, Andrew Craven, Emma Rushton and Ella Rushton; two sisters, Tammy (Don) Moriarty of Abbeville and Kathy (Swane) Callaway of Greenwood; brothers-in-law, Mike (Linda) Barrett of Greenwood and Danny (Luanne) Barrett of Hodges.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Scott officiating.

The family is at the home on Old Abbeville Highway and will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 3, Sunday afternoon.
