CATHY BROWNE

Cathy McKenzie Browne, 60, resident of 217 Hunters Blind Drive, wife of Melvin N. Browne, died August 5, 2011 at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital.

Born June 4, 1951, in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Charles J., Jr. and Doris Walton McKenzie. Mrs. Browne was a graduate of Greenwood High School and attended Lander College.

She was a member of Ashland United Methodist Church in Columbia.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are a daughter, Melissa Browne of Chapin; a son, Zachary and wife, Denise Browne of Orangeburg; a brother, Charles J., III and wife, Ginny McKenzie of Honolulu, Hawaii; and two grandchildren, Reese Browne and Addison Browne.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Polk officiating. Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Don Screws, Bobby Langford, Joe Snyder, Chris Humphries, James Clegg, Gordon Huston and Mike O'Connor.

The family will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 6 to 8 Monday evening and will be at the home in Irmo at all other times.
