Edith Yon Arnold Cothran, 86, former resident of 3710 Hwy 25 N., widow of Joe Earl Cothran, died November 6, 2013 at Petra Health and Rehab in McCormick.

Born in Greenwood, March 22, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Robert Carl and Kate Driver Yon. Mrs. Cothran, affectionately known to many as "Dee Dee" was admired for her hard working nature. She retired from Greenwood Mills, Mathews Plant after 48 years of service. She loved her family dearly and holds a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren.

A long-time member of Providence Baptist Church in Hodges, she was also a member of the Greenwood Mills Quarter Century Club.

Surviving are a son, Ricky Arnold and wife Myrna of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Teresa Timms of Shoals Junction, Larry Timms and wife Bonnie of Hodges, Jason Arnold and wife Elizabeth of Ninety Six and Nikki Arnold of Greenwood; four great-grandchildren, Dale Timms and Emma Grace, Eva and Davis Arnold; one great great-grandson, Cole Timms; her beloved canine companions, Kirby and Scrappy Arnold. Mrs. Cothran was predeceased by her daughter, Betty Jo Timms.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 Saturday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Wilson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 Saturday morning.
