Jerry Lee Langley, Sr., 67, husband of Elaine Lanier Langley, passed away May 6, 2017, at Greenville Health Systems.
Born January 18, 1950, in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Robert C., Sr. and Nellie Davis Langley. A 1968 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 1985 graduate of The University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, he was a US Air Force Veteran and a veteran of the US Army Reserves. Mr. Langley was a certified professional engineer (PE), and licensed construction manager.
An active member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Greenville, he was a former member and deacon of West Gantt Baptist Church in Greenville. He was also a member of the Fraternity of Freemasons, A.F.M. of South Carolina, the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple of Greenville and the Hejaz Shrine.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a daughter, Tricia Langley-Cutler and husband Christian Cutler of Simpsonville; a son, Jerry Lee, Jr. and wife Carly Langley of Nashville; a daughter-in-law, Ashley Simmons Langley of Easley; grandchildren, Bre'Anna Cutler, Seth Cutler, Ethan Cutler, Connor Langley, Gracen Langley, Dylan Langley, Andrew Langley and Carter Langley; nieces and nephews and various other relatives.
He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Cynthia Hope Langley, a son, Bryan Patrick Langley, a brother, Robert Clifton Langley, Jr., and a half-brother, John Homer Briggs.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 1801 Woodruff Road, Greenville, SC, at 3:00 pm Wednesday with the Revs. Travis Agnew, David Williams and Jeremy Johns officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens at 5:30 Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Ken Beale, Tigner Culpepper, Mike Galloway, Tim Keagy, Rick Smith and Buddy Summey.
The family is at the home in Piedmont and will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 2:45 Wednesday afternoon.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home in Greenwood and will be placed in the church at 1:00 pm Wednesday.
