Mary Thompson McDonald, 82, resident of 214 Fuller Street, wife of William Perry McDonald, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood, December 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late James K. and Blanche Cook Thompson. Mrs. McDonald formerly co-owned McDonald's Grocery Store and later Plantation Plants and Produce, both in Coronaca.

A member of Lupo United Methodist Church, Mrs. McDonald was also a Lifetime member of the Greenwood VFW Auxiliary Post 8131 and a active volunteer at the Coronaca Fire Department.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are a daughter, Kathy Buchanan of Greenwood and three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday at Bethlehem Cemetery with Rev. Shelia Rogers officiating.

The family is at the home and will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coronaca Fire Department, 1418 Highway 246 South, Greenwood, SC 29649.
