Obituary

Wade Randolph Knight, 82, resident of Piedmont Street, husband of Patsy Godfrey Knight, passed away April 6, 2017, at his home.

Born March 19, 1935, in Oconee County, he was a son of the late Joe H. and Etta I. Whitaker Knight. He retired from Greenwood Mills, Mathews Plant and later retired again from Greenwood School District 50, as chief custodian at East End School.

He was a member of New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Adult Bible Sunday School Class of the church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a son, Roger Dale and wife Cyndy Knight of Hodges; two sisters, Shirley Knight of Ninety Six and Sandra Crenshaw of Hodges; grandchildren, Chastity and husband Radd Copeland and Joey and wife Christina Knight; great grandchildren, Noah Hall, Taylin Hall Colton Knight and Jordan Renea Knight.

He was predeceased by a son, Thomas Joe Knight; three sisters, Mary Frances Knight, Betty Sue Knight and Margaret Getsinger; and three brothers, John Henry Knight, Wilson M. Knight and James M. Knight.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 pm Sunday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Marty Wiles and Rev. Gayle Summey officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Noah Hall, Joey Knight, Kevin Knab, Jerry Walker, Mike Carruth and Tommy Holland.

The family is at the home on Piedmont Avenue and will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 to 3:30 Sunday afternoon.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 231 Hampton Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29649.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt expression of gratitude to Mr. Knight's caregivers, Tammy Patrick, Shannon Knab, Rachel Knab, Kevin Knab and Susan Nickles for their love and kindnesses expressed by each of them during Mr. Knight's extended illness.
