Terry Franklin Laughlin, Sr., 69, resident of 604 Ridge Road, widower of Elizabeth Ann Rush Laughlin, died February 12, 2017, at his home.
Born February 4, 1948, in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Newman Franklin "Bill/Red" Laughlin and Marjorie Wrenn Laughlin. A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict with over a year combat experience. Mr. Laughlin was formerly employed as a driver with Drummond Oil Company and Satterfield Construction and was retired as a master mechanic from Cooper Power Systems after 26 years of service.
A member of Siloam Baptist Church, he was a member of the Praise Group of the church and the Mary Calhoun Sunday School Class and formerly served in various positions of the church. He was also a member of the Rock & Roll Cruisers.
In addition to his wife of 44 years, he was predeceased by a brother, Earl Hollis Laughlin, Sr., a sister, Sarah Marie Fousek and numerous nieces and nephews.
Surviving are a son, Terry Franklin Laughlin, Jr. of Hodges; a daughter, Nancy Laughlin of Hodges; two grandchildren, Samantha Bobo and Colby Laughlin, both of Hodges; and a brother, Clifton Calvin (Vickie Gorham) Laughlin of Greenwood.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 Friday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Webb and Rev. Marc Vickers officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Clifton Laughlin, Frank Laughlin, Speedy Veazie, Earl Laughlin, Jr., Chris Matthews, Patrick Brown and Timmy Robison.
Honorary escort will be members of the Mary Calhoun Sunday School Class and the Rock & Roll Cruisers.
The family will be at the home on Ridge Road and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to9 Thursday evening.
